Mike Villa

I’m Mike Villa and I’ve been a Certified Personal Trainer for over 20 years.  From corporate to  freelance fitness settings, I’ve worked in a variety of fitness centers all over the Austin area.  I have taught classes including spin cycling, co-ed strength and conditioning, self defense and boot camps just to name a few.  What separates me from the rest is my years of experience.  Over the past twenty years I’ve trained people from all walks of life and have learned more than I could have ever imagined. My clientele list ranges from 10 year old athletes to 85 year old fitness enthusiasts.  My training philosophy is simple, train hard, stay focused and you will succeed. Fitness, like everything in our lives, requires commitment, patience and knowledge.

My career as a personal trainer has had it’s challenges.  Like you, I have my own struggles that I deal with daily and the gym has always been my sanctuary. I believe that my ability to stay focused under intense, stressful life situations was created from my time and efforts in the gym. My hope is that after training with me, you will continue your fitness journey, lead a healthy lifestyle and become a part of my fitness family.

Specialties – Youth athletic strength, speed and agility for football and tennis but not limited. 

Interests- Boxing, strength training, muscle cars, running, UFC, football, tennis and hanging with family and friends.

Fun fact – On a dare I tried out for a semi pro football team the Punishers in Cedar Park, Tx.  He made the team at age 48.  Coach even called me 48 ;).  It was challenging but I loved every minute of it!

Bio:

  • Exercise Physiology Graduate Student at University of Mary Hardin Baylor
  • Played DI Volleyball at the United States Military Academy.
  • Played Nationally with All-Army Volleyball and Internationally with All-Armed Forces Volleyball Teams
  • Served as Strength and Conditioning Intern the United States Military Academy coaching Men’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Football
  • 5+ yrs of volleyball coaching in the CenTex Area
  • 5+ yrs of coaching sports performance training in the CenTex area
  • NQ NPC Bikini Competitor
  • 1 yr of college volleyball coaching
  • Coached in multiple DI & II Volleyball Camps including University of Texas, Villanova, United States Naval Academy and St. Edwards University
  • Helped sent two volleyball athletes to play at a DII school

As a personal trainer:

  • Develop young athletes in the CenTex area to achieve their athletic goals to excel at their respective sports; develop athletes quickness, coordination, strength and explosive power through innovative and experiences training programming.
  • Health coach and personal trainer for men and women become an “Athlete of Life”. Help achieve a holistic lifestyle through health and exercise with the ultimate goal from my training for it  become a permanent lifestyle change to fulfill the emotional, mental and physical demands from daily life.
